Greenlandic hunter Pullaq 'Qaaqqajaaq' Ulloriaq catches apaaliasuit, or little auks, with a traditional Inughuit long-handled net near the settlement of Siorapaluk, Greenland on May 26, 2022. When the auks arrive, hundreds of thousands nest in the cliffs nearby at once. The auks are harvested by long-handled net, as is long-standing tradition, rather than by modern weapons, resulting in a continuing and stable population over centuries.
